Investment Committee

As part of its strong governance framework, we have an Investment Committee comprising of senior members of management..

Cashmind Managers Investment Committee decisions are guided by Investment Policy Statements (IPS), which represent the broad outlines of investment principles and strategies adopted in managing these different portfolios. An IPS, among other things, defines the strategic asset allocation between asset classes such as government securities, corporate debt securities, bank fixed deposits, equities, offshore, property and cash.

Our primary investment objectives are capital preservation first and return on investment second based on a judicious balance of diversification, liquidity and forward-looking research. The IPSs of different portfolios articulate the level of risk tolerance from low to moderate.

Money Market Fund

Cashmind Money Market Fund (KES) aims to provide safety and income over the short to medium term by investing in a diversified portfolio of fixed income securities with the maturities being typically less than 18 months. The fund composition includes bank deposits, Kenyan treasury bills and (short-dated) treasury bonds, commercial paper and other near cash equivalents with defined maximal asset allocations.

Further, the fund is structured for investment of money for an indefinite time; with interest income being paid out monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually as selected by the investor.
